Quick and Easy DIY Christmas Decor to Make with Your Kids

Here are a few decoration ideas that you and your kids can indulge in and make together:
1. Melted crayon ornaments:

does your kid has one too many boxes of crayons received as gifts? Not sure how or when they’ll be used? Here’s a great way to use them for making some really spectacular Christmas ornaments that you and your guests will be delighted with. Get a bunch of plain ornaments and drop bits of crayons of different colors and use a blow dryer to melt them and watch the fascinating patterns that form.
2. Clay and Salt Dough Decorations:

Kids love messing around with modelling clay. You can easily turn this into a fun project to engage together and make nice decorations to hang on the Christmas tree. You can easily find Christmas-themed cutters in the market to use on the clay. Roll it out using a rolling pin and flour and cut out the shapes and bake it in the oven for a few minutes. Now, you’re ready to hang the ornaments on the tree. You can also an equal measure of salt and flour and mix with warm water to make salt dough and use them for making baked decorations.
3. Clothespin Reindeer:

This is the time when you receive plenty of cards for Christmas and New Year. Why not hang it on the wall and make it really cheerful and fun? Simply hang a string across the mantelpiece or any suitable place. Take some plain clothespins and colors and make some cute reindeers out of them with your kid. 7. Bottle Cap Snowmen:

Do you have a lot of cookie cutters of different shapes? Why not transform them into cute ornaments? All you need are the cookie cutters, glue and a variety of decorative gift paper. Cut the paper, paste them on one side of the cookie cutter and trim them to the shape. Voila! You have cookie-cutter ornaments to decorate your home.
9. Popsicle Stick Stars:

Simply collect and paint a bunch of popsicle sticks and paste three together to form a triangle. Paste two triangles together to get the star shape. These Popsicle stick stars can be used to decorate the outdoors or the walls. You can add more jazz to them by using glitter. You can use the sticks to make Christmas trees, reindeer and Santa’s hat. With a bit of creativity, you can have lots of fun with these sticks.
10. Wishing Spool:

Do your kids have a bunch of things they want for Christmas? Why not come up with a creative and fun way to express their hearts out? If you have a few wooden spools handy, that’s great. Even otherwise, you can use an empty film roll for the purpose. Use glue to paste one ned of a card paper and then ask your kid write out the list and hang it with the string onto the tree.
