Plan the Perfect Bluey Birthday Party - It’s Guaranteed to Be Super Fun

Arranging a Bluey birthday party is easy and bound to be a hit. Although the cartoon is written for kids aged five to seven, Bluey is loved by kids of every age - and their parents. Like with any other party, if you are wanting to host a memorable Bluey party it starts with a bit of planning and some party ideas. You will find a great range of Bluey decorations and accessories at our party store. Then add your own pizzazz with a bit of crafty know-how. Here are some ideas for planning an unforgettable Bluey party.
Let the adventure begin! Bluey’s on!
Dress up party...or not
What’s better than a regular Bluey party? A Bluey costume party! Most kids love an excuse for dressing up - as does an adult or two. Get set for dress up fun with Bluey and Bingo costumes for both kids and adults.

Even if it's not a dress-up party, why not get a few Bluey and Bingo masks for kids to wear? Add that extra fun to your party event with the supervising grownups decked out in Bluey style.
Invite the little folks over
It is always fun getting a themed invitation, and Bluey is so popular that there are a range of invitation options for you to choose from. You can search the internet for a digital invitation or add to the excitement with printed invitations that can be stuck on the fridge.

The Bluey website has a free printable party invitation for you to use (you just need to print out the template, cut out the shape and glue it together), or you can buy a set of invites with envelopes and stickers here. Or of course you can get your birthday child to draw Bluey and copy that for the invitations.
Decorate for a Bluey party
Why not create a path to your party site by cutting out some dog paw prints for the kids to follow up your driveway? Cut out cardboard in the shape of the paw prints, then paint them blue and stick them down with Blu-Tack.
Want to give your party tables a Bluey makeover? All things blue and orange will align with the theme. Start with a blue table cover. Or for some extra fun, get the Bluey table decoration kit to feature the doggy adventurers and their family.

Add a Bluey themed banner and hanging decorations to help set the Bluey scene. Check out our range of Bluey decorations here.
Get some photos snapped
You and your visitors are going to want some photos of your Bluey event. Get a few Bluey and Bingo props by printing them out and sticking them onto stiff cardboard, and then attach them onto sticks. You can also get a colourful scene setter to create a themed background for some fun snaps.

Great food, great tableware
You can plan any regular party food menu for the Bluey themed party, but if you want to take it up it a notch, consider including:
- Bluey and Bingo biscuits: Check out this Bluey biscuit to find out how to bake a batch.
- Blue lemonade: Prepare regular lemonade and add a pinch of blue food colouring.
- Blue cupcakes: Bake cupcakes as usual and use blue frosting. You can also make Bluey themed cupcake toppers. You can find the template and instructions here.
- Birthday cake: Make or order a Bluey themed cake with blue candles.
- Fruit salad: Did you know that Bluey loves fruit salad? That’s a great reason for including this on your menu.

Serve all your Bluey party treats and drinks in Bluey themed cups and square plates, along with colourful napkins and party picks. Buy these items here.
It’s fun and games
Treasure hunt: Give a lively twist to the party with some entertaining games for the Bluey fans. Like Bluey, kids love a bit of an adventure. So, why not pep up the party with a treasure hunt?

If there is enough space in your garden, you could plan out a treasure hunt course, complete with a map to follow. It could be one box of treasure to share or multiple hiding spots with treats for the finders! You can also make this easily work indoors with clever hiding spots and clues.
Your older kids will love making the map and planning the hunt.
Pinata bash: Everyone has a smashing time with a pinata at a party! You can buy a pinata or make one.
If you are wanting to make a pinata make sure you start it well ahead of the party day - as it takes layers of paper mache which takes time to dry. Follow these steps to make a Bluey pinata:
- Blow up a large balloon.
- Tear up strips of old newspaper.
- Make a thick paste with water and cornflour and coat it over the balloon.
- Cover the balloon in strips of paper, 3 - 4 layers with coatings of paste in between.
- Ideally leave it for a few days to give it time to dry.
- If you are wanting to make a Bluey shaped pinata, you could stick on cardboard shapes for ears, nose and legs - with another layer or two of paper connecting these shapes.
- Allow your pinata to dry. Then, pierce it to pop the balloon.
- Decorate your pinata with colour paper, images or fringe garlands - or print out a suitable Bluey picture.
- Insert 2 holes in the top to pass a string through ready to hang (do this in conjunction with the hole for filling)
- Cut a hole on top and then fill it up with confetti, sweets and trinkets. Then close the hole and complete the decoration.
- Hang it up and find a suitable stick.

With the pinata ready, it is time for the kids to have some smashing fun! Check out this blog to find out how to play the pinata game.
Take home treats!
Finish your Bluey party with fun party bags for the kids to take home. Be it homemade cookies or Bluey themed stationery, you can pack them in Bluey party bags or just small blue bags. With a bit of planning beforehand, you can help the party memories linger long after you have put your feet up for the day.
